How it’s used & Why it’s valuable

Use case: When engraving items like pens, dog bowls (with optional extenders), tapered tumblers (e.g., Stanley 40 oz, Yeti), mugs with handles, or any cylindrical object where you need to clamp and rotate. The Grip 2 is ideal when you cannot simply roll the object easily (or when it’s heavy or awkward).
Setup:
1. Mount the Grip 2 on your laser bed or rotary mount rail.
2. Adjust the height via the telescoping lift so the item is aligned with the laser focus height.
3. Use the Hexa-Jaw to securely grip the item (ensure centerline alignment).
4. Engage the rotation axis. In your laser controller/LightBurn (or whatever control software you use) set up the rotary axis correctly (e.g., diameter or circumference, steps per rotation).
5. Start engraving; as the object rotates, the laser writes the image around the circumference instead of just on the flat face.
Why it matters: The Grip 2 gives better precision and stability (less wobble, better torque, better grip) which means cleaner wraps, less misalignment, fewer rejects. As you deal with cabinetry production, signage, or custom parts, having a reliable chuck‐style rotary saves time and rework.
